Model: Archer MR200
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 0.9.1.1.1 v004a.0 Build 180119 Rel.32887n

I own the Archer MR200 v1 which is SIM locked and only works with one carrier. My contract has ended this month and i want to switch to another carrier. My question is if i upgrade to the latest stock firmware version that can be found on tp-link download page for my router it will unlock the SIM card slot and i will be able to insert any 4G SIM card?

Hello,

Normally, the Archer MR200 would not be locked to a specific carrier, was this router given by the carrier directly?

If yes, there might be some potential that it would not work with any other carriers.

By the way, it seemed that your current firmware on V1: 0.9.1.1.1 v004a.0 Build 180119 Rel.32887n is newer than what on the official website: Archer MR200(EU)_V1_180502;

Thank you.

@Sunshine

yes was given directly by my carrier with the SIM.

thats the firmware version mentioned on the router settings page so it should be a custom FW made by my carrier.

If its newer it means i wont be able to flash the latest official FW from tp-link? and if i do so you think it will unlock the SIM slot?

Hello

Thank you for your reply.

I checked your current firmware, and it is a specialized version for Carrier WIND, so I am afraid that  it could not be able to flash the latest official FW.

Really sorry for the inconvenience.

Have a good day.
