Hi.
There are no options about this in the User Guide. Maybe this modem does not have this function to disable ping response on WAN side.

Disable or Enable ICMP (PING) on TD-W8968

The answer to this question is to go to this location

System Tools
Manage Control
Service Configuration
Tick to enable or Tick to Disable
Remote and/or Local

Click Save and you are done, no need to reboot the router.

I hope this helps someone.

Would this also work for the TD-W8970 model?

I would like my router to stop responding to ping (ICMP Echo) requests.

Thanks

Hi Davey,

I had a look at the manual for the W8970 and it looks like a similar interface. I dont have one to test but its likely that the option is in the same menu location.
Manual is located here but doesnt specify that the option exists (pg 90): http://www.tp-link.com/resources/document/TD-W8970_V1_User_Guide_1910010882.pdf

Regards,
Remy
