TL-WA1201 disconnects users
Hi
I have two TL-WA1201 APs. One is in an area where relatively few devices connect and is abolutely fine. The other is in an area where eaily 25 plus devices connect (laptops/ipads/Echos and Particle Photons). The device with higher usage will "lock up" serveral times a day, requiring a power cycle (off/on) to get it working again. By "lock up" I mean that all devices are disconnected and presented with an incorrect WiFi password error.
I tried a factory reset and only changing SSID and password, no joy the problem persists.
The system log shows the following errors:
Hardware Version: TL-WA1201 v2.0
Software Version: 1.0.0 Build 20191204 rel.41918

@TP-Link Hello there. I am having the same problem. I use it in the office. Wifi printer, max. 3 laptops and several mobile phones are connected. Device works as an AP mode. Connected on e Mikrotik router. There is 1 SSID. The problem ocurs for min.4 to max.10 days period. Its main symptoms are: SSID appears but gives password error. When looking through the router, it seems that the WA1201 did not receive an IP.
I tried it by setting up a daily "Reboot Schedule". However, "Reboot Schedule" does not work when the device is locked.
The only solution is hard reboot.
Any suggestions?
Thank you...

Hi,
I have exactly the same problem. I just received my AP today and once I changed the SSID, it was impossible to connect.
The message was that "unable to connect to the network", as mentioned in previous posts.
The only way to connect the laptop was to use WPS. However there is no way to connect other devices using SSID and password.
Please advise whether this can be repaired otherwise I will return the device as faulty.

@A_User I was having similar issues / dropped connections.
Beta firmware seems to much more stable.

@A_User I have the same issue. Exactly the same system log (Failed to match led WAN_INET, Failed to read WAN1_ON, Config importing failed, ...) and connection issues. I now installed the beta firmware and still get the errors and warnings in the log file. Whether or not the connection is now stable I will have zo see.

@HandyAndy Please get back to us with testing results after few weeks. I wonder if this will be ever fixed in non-beta as we have almost a year since this thread was created. For me personally this AP is now electronic garbage laying somewhere in the basement as I have no heart to give this for anyone seeing how tp-link supports own products. Be careful with their hardware (no updates mean for example your wi-fi have a risk of FragAttack announced in May this year). ;)

@TP-Link Thank you for a reply. I tested the beta firmware for over a week and saw a significant improvement. Did not notice any dropped connections. As it was mentioned above, when it comes to wireless devices, software security updates are crucial so maybe try to also include them in the next releases.
