strange situation with usb connection?
Hardware Version is V2, probably... realtek 8812au chipset inside
explanation:
I bought the device 2 days ago and everything works perfectly. The device connects to a 2.4ghz wifi network at 270-300mbps. BUT!
checking in AIDA64, I found that the connection type is usb2 (although the device is specified as usb3). The main question is WHY IS THIS HAPPENING?
Is the problem software (drivers?) or hardware (extension cable with cradle, tplink lying about usb specifications?)
for now I have no problem since my internet is still 50mbps vdsl but soon I get 200mbps (maybe even faster) optical internet and I plan to connect to it via 5ghz wifi .
Can someone check the specific situation and explain to me what it is about. Someone from the users or (even better) one from the experts from tplink?
my theory is that this device automatically changes the type of usb connection depending on the type of wifi network. For 2.4ghz networks it uses a usb2 connection while for 5ghz networks it uses a usb3 connection, but I'm not sure. I can't check!
