Has the TP link team said that they have taken up this request and are working on it?

Thankfully I came across this thread before making the purchase for the second router. It would definitely be helpful to have this feature as I brought the RE and returned it due to in sufficient coverage and heating issues.

Extremely disappointed. Got a second router C6 to realize that onemesh doesn't work between two routers. 

At the outset, I accept my own folly to blindly assume that companies like TP-Link create customer friendly products and not some fine print EULAs and hidden messages, expecting customers to read between the lined.

Next time on, a big NO to T-Plink products

I've got 2 x C6U and I'm looking to buy 3rd but two things are holding me back:

1. System Ethernet backhaul mode, all nodes will only connect by ethernet, all bands will be released for wireless clients.

2. OneMesh between routers

This is available on other routers.... why we can not also have it!?

I'm also in the disappointed people list. I had one TL-WR841N and later I've purchased another one c6v2. Then I found that I can setup a mesh network with one mesh compatible routers (as showing in the device list of the page which mentioned in router's setup portal). Therefore I'e bought another c80 today and found that this is not possible. I never think about any other company's product as my network devices. But these make me very disappointed. Please try to figure out an solution else I've to sale all my routers and need to move to the asus products. As they are offering setup a mesh network between routers.

yeah, I also looked at asus aimesh and has a lot of cool features, but unfortunately in my country entry level AX router us about $150, so for now I am waiting TP-Link R&D to see what they will offer. At the moment I am looking in OpenWRT firmware and trying to find out if I installed 3rd party firmware to my routers, will I have the following options:

1. Wi-Fi Mesh between routers
2. All routers will connect only via Ethernet, so the 2 bands will be free for devices. That is 1 main router and 2 nodes connected to it
3. Ability to reduce the transmission power of routers to limit their overlap
4. Opportunity for Roaming Assistant
5. Having only one SSID name at 5 GHz and one SSID name at 2.4 Ghz, not both the AP mode of the router and having twice as many network names.

If i can achieve this with OpenWRT I will be happy :)))
