Archer MR600(EU) V1 - BETA Firmware - Allowing selection of 4G+bands for Archer MR600 manually
Hi all,
Following the long thread on the same subject discssing the BETA FW, as I said I would, TPLink have given me permission to share the FW download llink.
From TPLink - We recently released a beta firmware for Archer MR600(EU) V1 which can allow us to select 4G+bands for Archer MR600 manually.
https://static.tp-link.com/2020/202004/20200420/Archer_MR600v1_1.1.0_0.9.1_[200417-rel75138]_up_boot_2020-04-20_08.44.31.zip
For Archer MR600, if you want to use its 4G+network, your SIM card should support the CA bands group Archer MR400 supports. Please check the attached picture and check if your SIM card supports the band groups on the list or not.
They asked me to state that, this BETA FW is for the Archer MR600(EU) V1 ONLY!
Neither TPLink nor me take any respnsbility if you flash a none-EU router.

@Indian-techie Thanks for your query about 2XCA combination on Airtel India with 3A-40A band, Please see my MR600 bands manually set on Band3 and Band40, and normally I am getting 45 to 60 Mbps and at night speed goes up to 100 Mbps.
Airtel also supports 40A-40A combination but MR600 currently does not support. Same I have requested to TP-Link support to implement in the next firmware release along with band selection feature in the general firmware. I am eagerly awaiting for this 40A-40A CA support on MR600.
Carrier aggregation band combinations must be supported by your mobile tower (BTS) at your location and state, Also you should have good signal strength on both the bands to get 4G+ mode active. I am in Mumbai and getting good speed with this router. Please see the below screenshot for your reference taken just now from my laptop. I have observed that if the signal level goes down then also 4G+ mode will deactivate automatically. Pls see the below screenshot and speediest result.
Hope it helps.

Thanks Rajiv,
I am also in Mumbai but I am only getting Band 40. Signal strength is 100%.
My mobile is always showing 4G+ and easily reaches 60-70 Mbps download speed.
But MR600 is stuck at 4G and download speed is around 20-25 Mb only. I already had a 4G router and wanted to boost speed with 4G+ with MR600. Looks like i have to return it back as I dont know when 40A-40A CA will be supported. Apperciate your response mate:)

@Rajiv.R Yes I too live in Navi Mumbai area. Band 40 aggregation will help.

Keep in mind, installing the beta firmware will leave your router open to vulnerabilities, that have only been fixed in a later firmware.

@Baenz CWMP vulnerability was exploited only with 2 service providers CPE in europe. But if we look at vulnerability, as long as we are connected to internet, vulnerability will co-exist. Some known and some unknown and some in development. It is up to user to keep an eye on what's going on in his/her network to make sure his device is not being used for DDoS attacks. Please do share your view, which could help all of us understand things better.
Needless to say, any BETA firmware (not just TP-Links) is to be used only by users who have fair understanding of network and the risks associated with usage of BETA firmware.

It is not known which vulnerarbilities excatly have been fixed, since the CVE number (20190328) doesn't match the description.
The TP-Link support seems to widely reccommend installing the beta, so I thought it might be worth noting that this should not be a permanent solution.

Hi,
During my testing with Beta firmware, CA was working for JIO Band 3 & 5. For some reason CA was not working for Airtel on my MR600. I was trying Band 3 & 40. Though Internet was working when manually selected Band 3.

In my area, i was getting 5 Mb on JIO with CA...thats hopeless....I couldnt get Airtel CA working in my area. Other users have reported upto 100 Mbps when CA works on Airtel.
