Archer MR600(EU) V1 - BETA Firmware - Allowing selection of 4G+bands for Archer MR600 manually
Hi all,
Following the long thread on the same subject discssing the BETA FW, as I said I would, TPLink have given me permission to share the FW download llink.
From TPLink - We recently released a beta firmware for Archer MR600(EU) V1 which can allow us to select 4G+bands for Archer MR600 manually.
https://static.tp-link.com/2020/202004/20200420/Archer_MR600v1_1.1.0_0.9.1_[200417-rel75138]_up_boot_2020-04-20_08.44.31.zip
For Archer MR600, if you want to use its 4G+network, your SIM card should support the CA bands group Archer MR400 supports. Please check the attached picture and check if your SIM card supports the band groups on the list or not.
They asked me to state that, this BETA FW is for the Archer MR600(EU) V1 ONLY!
Neither TPLink nor me take any respnsbility if you flash a none-EU router.

Actually... forget what I said in my post of yesterday; all of my problems have returned.
I'm giving in with this router and looking for something more reliable.
Good luck everyone!
Cheers... Paul

Yes, the software support is dissapointing.
Firmware bugs that I've reported in January hadn't been fixed in the June firmware update either.

Firmware Version: 1.1.0 0.9.1 v0001.0 Build 200417 Rel.75138n
Hardware Version: Archer MR600 v1 00000001
Region: India
ISP: Airtel
LTE Bands: Band 1, Band 3, Band 8, Band 40
Hello,
I'm using the frst beta firmware to manually enable carrier aggregation on MR600, however I've come across the following issues:
1. Manually selecting Band 3 and Band 40 enables the 4G+ mode, but the bands don't remain aggregated indefinitely. Sometimes it remains aggregated for an hour or more while sometimes it remains aggregated only for a couple of minutes. Once the aggregation is lost, the router switches back to Band 40.
Why is this happening? Is this an issue with the router or with the cellular tower?
2. My ISP supports intraband aggregation for Band 40, but the MR600, even after manually selecting both bands to Band 40 doesn't aggregate them. The advanced page shows that the router is still using single Band 40. The possible CA combinations on the first page shows that intraband Band 40 aggregation is supported on the MR600.
Again, is this an issue with the router? My iPhone always aggregates Band 40 which gives me the best speeds, so I'm sure that the tower is capable of allowing intraband Band 40 aggregation.
I'd really appreciate if someone can help me out here.
Thanks.

Dear All,
I have tested MR600 with BETA Firmware Version:1.1.0 0.9.1 v0001.0 Build 200417 Rel.75138n, It is working great and need the following 40A-40A CA combination
which is currently missing in MR600.
Region: India / Mumbai
ISP: Jio and Airtel both supports 2CA with 40A-40A CA combination on 4G band B40 2300 20Mhz+B40 2300 10Mhz
As I have a Samsung J7 Pro mobile phone and an Oneplus 7 Mobile phone, Both the mobile phone is working perfectly with 40A-40A mode with the same SIM card at the same place, same time.
So, it looks something needs to update in the general firmware or in the specific beta firmware to support 40A-40A CA combination.
Also, request to TP-Link support please to look into the 40A-40A CA combination support in the future firmware keeping the band selection feature in the general firmware.
Many Thanks.

Hi Team,
Firstly, thank you for sharing beta software link and your experiences.
I am based out of india and using Airtel. Since I was not getting 4G+ on my MR600, I tried loading BETA on my MR600.
Even after loading beta image & manually selecting Band 3 & 40 (which is available with Airtel), 4G+ is not enabled.
I tried with JIO with Band 4 & 5 and it did work.
Wondering how come it worked for another Airtel users @LTE-A @Rajiv.R . Can you guys post your config screen shots??
