Archer MR600(EU) V1 - BETA Firmware - Allowing selection of 4G+bands for Archer MR600 manually
Hi all,
Following the long thread on the same subject discssing the BETA FW, as I said I would, TPLink have given me permission to share the FW download llink.
From TPLink - We recently released a beta firmware for Archer MR600(EU) V1 which can allow us to select 4G+bands for Archer MR600 manually.
https://static.tp-link.com/2020/202004/20200420/Archer_MR600v1_1.1.0_0.9.1_[200417-rel75138]_up_boot_2020-04-20_08.44.31.zip
For Archer MR600, if you want to use its 4G+network, your SIM card should support the CA bands group Archer MR400 supports. Please check the attached picture and check if your SIM card supports the band groups on the list or not.
They asked me to state that, this BETA FW is for the Archer MR600(EU) V1 ONLY!
Neither TPLink nor me take any respnsbility if you flash a none-EU router.

Wow, great to hear we finally get this feature!
When is the update supposed to be rolled out in its final version? Don't want to tamper with my completely new MR600 with this beta firmware and risk losing warranty or stuff.

I use Three because they haven't implemented CGNAT like Vodafone and EE. Online P2P gaming doesn't like CGNAT so I am stuck with Three for the foreseeable.
Hi @dgr1and welcome to the conversion, I didnt realise about CGNAT until I saw your post. This is going to be a big issues for me as I have a home server and I also game so not getting a publically accessable IP (static or dynamic) will be a really problem. From the EE posts it looks like I'm not the only one and until EE implement IPv6 there doesnt seem to be a way around it. I appreciate this has nothing to do with this post topic but I would appreciate a discussion on CGNAT and TP-Link routers (maybe another thread) to look into possivle solutions. I'm read that VPN and VPS can help could I'm not sure where to start with this one.

Hi @apt. I'm no expert and it sounds like you've found the same threads as me on EE forums. Maybe start another thread to ask your specific query, but any possible solutions I've seen sound very complicated. I don't think you can get away from the fact that EE and Vodafone currently have CGNAT. I note that some ISPs in other countries offer additional monthly fees to have a static IP, but I've never seen that option from a UK 4G provider.
Sorry, but do let me know if you have any success.

Thanks for your reply, I’ve now started another post around the issue for those interested:

@kLumpat Just had the issue that you mentioned
Been rock solid for a couple of weeks and the last couple of days about lunchtime the bands swap over somehow. Normally bands '1,20' indicated in status but occasionally bands '20,1' which reduces my download significantly. Note - Nothing in the system log. A quick reboot and everything back to normal. Not sure if MR600 or mast issue?

Good evening Thank you for sharing this beta Firmware. Thanks to this I went from 10 Mbit to 180Mbit in download!. It would be nice to be able to see the bts available with the relative bands to choose from. I found that if I set band A (3) and B (7) after a while I find myself A (7) B (3) and I am forced to restart. Thank you for the excellent work done and look forward to the final version. Marco

@Sconi Awesome! Remember that's not the full FW. They are still working on it.
I have quite a few disconnection issues as do others.
It might improve.
Good luck.
