Archer C2300 V2 WiFi drops out
Archer C2300 V2 WiFi drops out
Hello,
so I've got this router a few weeks ago and all in all I am really happy with it except one thing. The WiFi will just randomly cuts out on all connected devices on both 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks. Some days it's better, some days it's worse but all in all it's annoying. It used to cut out 4-5 times troughout the day, now it's down to 2-3 times but since I'm working from home now it's becoming a real problem.
I've looked in the System Log if anything was written in it when it happens and there isn't. So, can it just be a randomly bad router or is there someting else going on?
I've tried factory resets and changing WiFi settings, but considering it happens on both networks, it seems a firmware issue. Tho, I must say it was happening with the firmware it came with and the latest one too.
As said, it cuts off all devices connected to both the 2.4 and 5GHz networks and after anywhere between 5 to 30 seconds later they can reconnect without issues. So, do I need to send it back or is there hope?
Thanks!

@admirdante My C6 sometimes forces a reconnection too, it's difficult to catch and maybe it's just a change of the WiFi channel which is set to Auto.
So far haven't interrupted my tasks and didn't give it more importance. By the way, I only use the 5GHz band, I recall seeing threads talking about the 2.4GHz and firmware updates that have solved some problems.

We will do some troubleshooting and try to fix it.
May I know who is your ISP?
What is the light status of the C2300 when the connection drops out? Can you get internet from it via wired cable at that time? Please connect your device to the modem directly to do a comparison test as well. If modem works well, you can connect your computer back to the C2300 by wired cable and log into the web UI to clone the MAC address.
When the network stops working, please check the IP address and default gateway with your computer connected to the modem/router separately and show me the status-details page. Instruction as below: https://www.tp-link.com/support/faq/838/
At that time, please login to the web UI of the Archer C2300 and take a full screenshot of the Advanced-status page, and go to the advanced-system tools-system log to save and export it to us.
Besides, please follow the instruction below to do some test and tell me which case you belong to.

Neither of the links you posted work for me. Can you explain from which device should I clone the MAC address? The one connected via cable? And what is that supposed to do? As said, when it happens nothing gets written into the system log, I already looked into it.
EDIT: I looked if my PC that is connected via cable has a connection once mine breaks, and it does. So the LAN connections aren't affected.

Those links attached are used to guide you to get the relative information on your own device.
To clone the MAC address, you need to connect your computer to the C2300 by wired cable and log into the web UI to clone the MAC address.
As for this intermittent wifi connection issue, you can change some wireless settings to improve its performance. For example, use channel 1, 6 and 11/channel width 20MHz for 2.4GHz; for 5GHz, you can use channel 36, 40 and 44; channel width as 40MHz.
You can change the location of the actual router or its antennas as well.
Besides, please ensure that the firmware is up to date.
Good day.

Good product and please read complete review to understand on wifi range issue.

I have read the review and the product works as advertised except for the issue with WiFi cutting out for ALL devices on both networks. This issue that I'm having has literally NOTHING to do with the "product review".

Hi,
I've the same router C2300 V2 and also WIFI connection is randomly dropped (once/twice a day).
Nothing in LOG. And it's not problem with internet connection, it's just WIFI which is dropped and for about 15 seconds I cannot reconnect (Windows tells "cannot connect to wifi" just after I click on 'connect to').
It's happening at the same time on two Windows 10 machines, two phones (Android and iPhone). It's for sure C2300's fault.
How can you help me?
