Hi Guys,

 

I am using an Archer MR200 V2 on Vodafone 4G network and occassionally have some problems where certain websites don't load and others are fine - so it isn't a 4G connectivity issue. Internet speed test is fine (40-50MB). 4G signal is 100% from the cell tower (which I can see from my window). When the problem occurs, it's like the DNS lookup doesn't work as a DNS Error is shown on the PC screen, when the website doesn't load.

 

Or I suppose it could be a problem with the DHCP server on the MR200? The problem happens with both cables LAN connected devices to the MR200, as well as WiFi connected devices. Oddly, another device connected to the MR200 may be able to render the "problem website" when another connected device is having problems.

 

I logged into the Router's admin panel and went to Advanced > Firmware Upgrade and it says my "firmware is up to date". However, on the TP-Link UK support website there appears to be a later firmware version, so I wanted to check with you whether I should upgrade?

 

Current firmware: Firmware Version:1.5.0 0.9.1 v004a.0 Build 180814 Rel.54056n

New firmware showing on TP Link support site: 1.6.0 0.9.1 Build 181219        dated 2018-12-19_17.59.04 <---- this appears to be a later version

 

Do I manually upgrade my MR200, or is the "Your firmware is up to date" correct and I really do have the latest version? Also the existing Firmware is v004a.0, but my MR200 has ver 2.1 on the underside label. So the new firmware I list above is what comes up on the support site for the V2 MR200, which according to the instructions should be the right firmware for my device.

Hello, you can update this firmware manually. 

 

And you can change the DNS server to 8.8.8.8/8.8.4.4 to give it a go.

 

After that, please verify whether you still have this issue.
