Model: TL-WN722N
Hardware Version: V3
Firmware Version:

Windows 10 is stuck in the login screen for about 20 seconds before mouse or keyboard works when USB WLAN adapter TL-WN722N V3 is plugged in. The green light starts blinking about 3 seconds before keyboard becomes functional.

Things I have tried which have NOT helped:

- Install latest driver (version 1030.29.1102.2017, date 18.7.2018). In web page the published date is 2019-04-18.

- Hard code IP address (instead of using DHCP) and disable DHCP and WLAN Auto-config services.

- Connect ethernet cable

- Disable legacy USB support in BIOS

- Try different USB ports

- Disable "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power"

Things I have tried which have helped:

- Disable the WLAN adapter in "Control Panel -> Network and Internet -> Network Connections". But of course then it doesn't work! Re-enabling it takes about 24 seconds.

Motherboard is MSI B450M Mortar MAX. Windows version is 1909, build 18363.657.

I don't see anything interesting in the system log (in event viewer). There is a 20 second gap of log entries.

Everything works as expected after the 20 second delay OR if I connect the adapter after Windows has started.

I reinstalled Windows last week, so it's pretty fresh.

@kiuruh

Hi,

When and where did you buy this adapter? Does it work fine with your Windows 10 computer before?

Please uninstall the driver on the computer, and click here to download the new driver.

Then please turn off the firewall and antivirus on the computer, refer to the FAQ below to install the driver manually.

If it still not working, please refer to the instruction below to check the related information and send us the screenshot.

Thank you and have a nice day!
