Just to update. TP Link support sent me the following URL which had a beta release firmware for my model - Archer VR 400 v2.
https://www.tp-link.com/uk/support/download/archer-vr400/v2/#Firmware
This fixed my issue with apparently no side affects (it's been a few weeks now).

Thanks kindly for the information. Unfortunately that is for VR900(EU)V3 and my modem which is of VR900 AU V2 build rejects with error code 4503 which according to their help, is due to either of the below.
- TP-Link "Region locked" firmware. This firmware is checking for a specific region signature when flashing.
- Lack of regional metadata in OpenWrt image; Different, unsupported country specific OEM hardware/firmware (e.g. chinese version).
This has gotten very frustrating over the course and I am still stuck with the original issue.

Hello all, sorry to respond late.
As for the Address Reservation page greyed out issue you are experiencing, our developer had provided beta firmware to resolve it, you may give it a go.
For MR200_v3/v4, MR400_v2/v3, MR6400_v3/v4 (all shares the same beta):
For TL-MR6400(EU) V4 00000002_200829:
For TL-MR3420(EU)_v5:
BTW, this issue has already been fixed on the latest firmware of the VR models, please update your firmware to the latest if you experience this issue, thank you.
