Your firmware is not the latest, you'd better go to the tp-link official website to download and upgrade the new firmware.

TL-W8968 Looses connect

Hi all

Same issue, brought two of these and they're installed in different locations with different PCs and with different ISPs, every 15 minutes or so they seem to lock up while browsing and drop the connection, you have to go physically switch it off and on again to continue browsing. Did a test with a different router and it works fine, will be returning them to the store :/

TD-W8968 Keeps disconnecting

Hi everyone,

I have the same issue here, it seems that I wasted my money for nothing :mad:

Firmware Version:0.6.0 3.1 v0019.0 Build 140514 Rel.63553n

Hardware Version:TD-W8968 v2 00000000

ISP: Algeria Fawri++

Bandwidth: 8M

I had trouble with the modem delivered by the ISP, it keeps limiting my bandwidth, so I bought this TP-Link. At the beginning it worked well, but after a while it starting messing things up. I started getting disconnected every 10 to 15 minutes, sometimes losing entirely my DSL link, and sometimes with even Internet link on, there is no Internet for a while. I tried a lot of things : changing my DNS, changing advanced setting in Network > WAN Settings, but when I put back my old modem I get stable connection, but with limited bandwidth.

Did anyone find a solution for this ? Can you help me please ? I don't want to spend more money buying new modem.

Edit: Discovered that the connection drops when the SNR margin gets very low (around 1dBm), with the old modem the bandwidth is very limited but the internet is very stable with an SNR about 3dBm. Can' TP-Link developers program the modem to adapt bandwidth to the SNR ?!! Why there is no feedback since ?!!

Thanks !
