Mixing 500 and 200Mbps, speed of all connections drops to 200Mbps

I am using a pair of 500 Mbps Powerline adapters between my PC and router to stream media files to my TV (wired to the router).
Now I want to create an additional connection from a different PC to the router. I am planning to buy an extra Powerline adapter for this to connect to the powerline-network. But the new PC does not need the capability of 500 Mbps, 200 will be more than enough. The FAQ states:
My question:
Does the speed of the complete network drop to 200 Mbps, or only the branch between the adapter at the router and the new PC? (i.e. the connection between the router and the media PC remains at 500 Mbps)
