Under Consideration Feature Request: Update Firmware to Support IKEv2 and WireGuard for VPN server.
Hello,
I wanted to submit a feature request to have the developers add IKEv2, SSL, and WireGuard protocols to the VPN Server with a new firmware upgrade. Is this the best way to request this feature? AT&T tends to throttle any VPN traffic that I have noticed. The only way I can use VPN with reliable speeds is by using a VPN to communicate over 443 to mask/obsufucate the traffic. OpenVPN and even IKEv2 have slowdowns. I have tried many VPN service providers but they all do not give me gigabit speeds. They make my connection go from 940/940mbps to 10/10mbps. The current VPN server for TP-Link allows for encryption but not anonymous.
Thank you,
CyberNinja15

@CyberNinja15 I agree, we need these features soon. I would also suggest enabling this option to all your routers and not just new ones.

I just don't understand why offer wifi6 and wpa3 but not recognize the validity of a privacy framework which is lighter on the typical processors used in home/Soho routers than that currently offered.

@CyberNinja15 Did TP-Link end up getting back to you? Have they integrated Wireguard in their routers yet?
Windows and Ubuntu have all started to have Wireguard as standard now in there operating systems.
I was wondering if TP-Link support it yet.
I am looking at buying 5 to 6 routers to deploy a VPN with Wireguard and set up my clients how do you find the routers? Is there allot of functions in the central management for TP-Link Omada Coud management solution? Is it a free or is it a paid service the Omada?

@DSNA I'm not sure. I moved on to Ubiquiti AmpliFi Alien gaming router.

@CyberNinja15 Most Definitely agreed!! This should have been thought of, looked into, and setup already!! Actually, kind of shocked that it hasn't yet especially as of 2020-21 with, pretty much, the whole world being quarantined and stuck for the most part inside with not much more than their gadgets!! With the rise of sales of just about everything that connects to the internet, you would figure this issue would have been addressed atleast within the past year or so!!

@Kevin_Z I upgraded my AX6000 to the latest firmware (1.2.5 Build 20211208 rel.49262(5553)) today -March 3, 2022- and do not see any new VPN options. Android 12 has removed pptp and only shows IKEv2 now. Any updates on this request for IKEv2?

@CyberNinja15 I wish to add my desire for Wireguard support!
Also I would like to see some response as to the current status of these requests even if it's "not gonna happen". "Maybe in 3 years".
Please let us know something.
Thanks

Interested in WireGuard support too
Just got an AX73 and it's pretty awsome, but no WireGuard (client nor server) support even with the latest firmware
