Deco M4 CPU 100%
Hi,
I have the DECO M4 (2 nodes) system and have noticed that the CPU most often reaches 100% usage, regardless of whether the internet bandwidth is low or high.
No network instability occurs and the latest firmware is installed.
This is normal ?
Thanks!!

@Kevin_Z My tp-link m4 is very slow to make a connection whith my devices. Somtimes it takes minutes, can't get i, connetion time out and so on. frustrating When de connetion is running i can get speed up to 250mbs (my network at home is 1000mb/s). My CPU is most of the time 100% busy. i have most of the time about 10 devices connectes (3 tablets, 3 phone, 2 laptops and an printers. My other devices, 3 camera's, 1 server is connected by cable.
What can i do?

@Jan-Willem since the last update the wireless connection has been very erratic and constantly keeps disconnecting. It has been very disappointing that TPLink has done nothing to fix this in spite of so many complaints.

Has anyone here put the deco behind another router and set it up for WiFi access only? I wonder if the performance would increase if it wasn't handling routing requests?
I also show 38 devices online on my network with various IoT devices attached and kids doing school from home right now. Maybe we're just too much load for a consumer wireless solution?

Having the some problem here in a brand new installation. I have 3 M4, in Access Point mode (no router). One of them keeps going up and down in CPU percentage with bad network performance. All of them are upgraded to the last firmware version.
This is really annoying because affects network performance in these days when we are all at home working and following on line lessons. If it keeps doing this, I'll have to send it back to Amazon with a bad review.

@gmurugesh This issue definitely affects performance. This is how I know, when my smart TV is downloading a show it is definitely slower during high CPU usage. Furthermore, when the movie first begins and UNTIL the CPU usage drops, the definition of the TV is no better than the old large tube TVs and when the CPU drops, the screen is HD. Lastly, my computer does in fact slow down in webpage loadings. In spite of internet continuing to perform, it is not optimum and there is NO fix. TP-link indicated a year ago not to worry a firmware, I think, was in the works. Well, i guess I made a huge mistake in purchasing this router because there is no fix and it is only two weeks old - hmmm, maybe that is why it was on sale?????? Lack of disclosure.

I realized the problem was actually the satellite M3W devices that were causing the issue. I bought a Deco M5 and made that my main router and the M4 my satellite unit and now there is no more issues. My wireless speed is a consistent 450mbps and CPU usage is low.

Hi, All,
Please be aware that:
Since the web UI of Deco sometimes is not real-time updated, if the CPU load 100% can be fixed by a refresh of the web UI, the high CPU load could not cause any issue.
And If the CPU is stuck to 100% and refresh did not change it, currently, we have not got any feedback yet, and would be appreciated for you to start a ticket to support@tp-link.com with the subject [Forum ID 178196] CPU load 100% did not change after a refresh on the web UI.
So if there is an issue, like ping spike, internet instability, please start a new thread with more description.
