Deco M4 CPU 100%
Hi,
I have the DECO M4 (2 nodes) system and have noticed that the CPU most often reaches 100% usage, regardless of whether the internet bandwidth is low or high.
No network instability occurs and the latest firmware is installed.
This is normal ?
Thanks!!

Hi, All,
Please be aware that:
Since the web UI of Deco sometimes is not real-time updated, if the CPU load 100% can be fixed by a refresh of the web UI, the high CPU load could not cause any issue.
And If the CPU is stuck to 100% and refresh did not change it, currently, we have not got any feedback yet, and would be appreciated for you to start a ticket to support@tp-link.com with the subject [Forum ID 178196] CPU load 100% did not change after a refresh on the web UI.
So if there is an issue, like ping spike, internet instability, please start a new thread with more description.

You can try to refresh this web page, and try to change another web browser or device to access it.
And the CPU load does not affect the actual performance of the Deco. You may let it go for now.
Besides, we will try to improve it via the firmware release.
Good day.

@Kevin_Z Let me get this right.....it doesnt affect the actual performance of the Deco.....but you will try to improve via a firmware release? Makes no sense, well to me anyway.

Dear Kevin,
please just leave this discussion.
What is the cause of this problem? If you don't explain the reason how can I trust you that it doesn't affect the performance?
For example, I bought this unit and found this phenonmenon. Should I return this unit within 7 days or trust you that if will not affect the performance and release a new FW...

@pedrohsoaresbr I've also noticed this peaking at 100% constantly. The performance of the unit is good and there doesn't appear to be a cause for concern.
However from working with computers for years and in a 2nd line service role usually when a CPU hits 100% it's reached the absolute maximum capacity and is now a bottleneck to performance.
@Kevin_Z If this metric is unreliable and has no bearing on performance why include it? Including unreliable data only serves to confuse users.
Also your forum content filter is atrocious I couldn't put the word hit here instead of reached "it's *reached*"

I am having the same problem and it IS affecting my network. It causes TV to freeze in middle of a show or me to get boote from a simple online card game. FIX THIS! I will be leaving a review on Amazon where I purchased this trash.

@strykezero I also didn't notice any abnormal performance until today, it really must be a bug that shows the wrong percentage.

Although until today happen 100% cpu usage I have no problems with the network. 100% stable. I hope the team updates the firmware to fix this bug.

I have seen the same problem and now after the recent firmware update a couple of days ago my wifi is freezing and losing connection when CPU is at 100%.

Firmware 1.4.2 Build 20200727 Rel. 49069
The same problem. When CPU reaches 100%, the device freezes and my network doesn' work. It can be different, but at least several times per minute. I can't work normally. You have to upgrade your firmware, because it this time Deco is a trash.
