Data speeds suddenly at 0.0kbs on M7350
Hello,
I have been using a Hofer (local Austrian Aldi affiliate) unlimited data SIM card in an M7350 for the past two months without any problems. My monthly subscription auto-renewed on the 21st, and all of a sudden I have speeds of 0.0kbs. I called the Hofer help line, and they said their system shows my SIM card is connected to the network but has not used any data yet this cycle. The associate was pretty certain it had nothing to do with their end and suggested I see if there was a problem with the device. Further, whenever I open up the tpMiFi app, there’s a brief burst of increased speed before it settles back down to zero. My computer will connect to the device and show full bars, but will fail to load anything. Any thoughts on why this might be happening all of a sudden? Happy to provide any more details if necessary.
Thank you.

@Kevin_Z yea it was bizarre. I finally got it to work by having my computer forget the network and manually readding the TP Link to my list of accepted networks. I haven’t the slightest clue why this might have been a problem or why speed was 0.0kbs without a connection to the laptop, but it seems to be working again (albeit much slower than ignore previously was).

WIth the SIM card inserted into the smart phone directly, can you access internet?
If so, please plug it back to the M7350 and login to the web UI.
https://www.tp-link.com/support/faq/1647/
And go to status page to verify whether it has the valid IPv4 address.
And you can try to create the network profile manually with the APN info to give it a go.
Note: Go to advanced-Dial up-Dial up settings-click create.
May it help and have a nice day.

@Kevin_Z thanks for help. It can still access internet directly from my phone. I tried to set up a manual APN but that doesn’t seem to have worked. Every once and a while, the speed will normalize for a minute and then go back to 0.0kbps. I thought it might just be a problem with my payment, as it appears my
payment from last Thursday didn’t clear until today, but still experiencing the issue. Could it be anything else?

It is hard to say the root cause; when the speed goes to 0Kbps, you can test the actual speed you can get from the TP-Link wifi.
Besides, you can change another SIM card to do a comparison analysis.
Furthermore, you can clear your payment with ISP first and the verify whether the speed goes normal.
Good day.

Thanks for your updates, glad to hear that you figured it out.
For the speed issue, you can adjust the wireless settings to improve its performance, including wireless channel and channel width.
Note: Channel 1, 6 and 11 for 2.4GHz and channel width as 40MHz.
May it help.

@Kevin_Z well, it’s acting up again, and this time the disconnecting/reconnecting isn’t working. Really confused here.
