I have the RE270K wifi extender and switched outlet. Recently I add pi-hole to my networking to stop as blocking and what this showed is that the RE270K is sending out multiple DNS queries every 15 seconds. The queries are to amazon.com, LinkedIn.com, reddit.com, and many others. No other devices on my network come close to the amount of queries. And this is with the wifi extender functionality disabled and so this can't be any clients of the extender as there are none.

I can't think of the reasoning behind it. Seems overboard as a simple check for internet connectivity. Maybe it's caching popular DNS queries but I can't imagine it intercepts DNS queries. Could it be something more nefarious going on here?

Cheers

Hello, the DNS queries to the popular websites are used to test the network connection, which is normal.

You can be assured of it.
