Feature request: forward SMS messages
Feature request: forward SMS messages
Hi,
I'm really enjoying my Archer MR600 and it performs very well indeed.
There's one feature that I think it lacks, though. My provider sends SMS messages warning me when I'm running out of data and other service alerts, but I don't want to have to keep going to the web interface to check for new messages. Instead, it would be helpful to be able to set up a forwarding number so that any messages received would be sent on to that. Then I wouldn't ever miss an important message!
Thanks,
Clive

@LoopyLu Hello, I think it will be a great feature too as I'm also facing the same problem ! Please add sms forwarding or at least the possibility to view sms on the tether app.

@Kevin_Z any updates on this? We've been using the TP-Link MR600 for 2 weeks now and already missed a couple of text messages saying we are almost at our data limit for the day. At least we need a push notification form the app saying there is a text.

It would be a great feature, as sometimes service provider sends SMS which require urgent action.

@Kevin_Z yes this is quite necessarily option, that should be present on 4g routers

Sms notification in the Tether app soon? Can't be too difficult to implement in the app?

I confirm this request. It's must have. I'm using MR600 now 3 months and I'm so tired of checking SMS inbox and missing important messages.
Otherday I have left my car window open and on my car windshield there is my phone number in case someone needs me to move my car.
A lady sent me SMS to inform me that my window is open and I've seen SMS 2 days later. Call are being forwarded directly via mobile provider but SMS can't be forwarded.
Therefore, an option to forward SMS to EMAIL would be great. Basically, this shouldn't be hard, just a simple script, SMTP server and recepient mail.

Just bumping this thread. I would love to be able to read the SMS messages outside of the router. I don't really care how, forward to email, via the app, SMS forwarding... Anything to avoid having to login to the router to see them.
