Hi! I have bought a range extender yesterday so that I can have WiFi signal on the upper floor. The device overheats when plugged in - even if not in use. It's hot to touch. The area has air conditioning, so the temperature is around 22-23 degrees. Is it normal?

@andra33

As an electrical appliance and a network device, it will produce heat inevitably; Please put it in an open and airy place.

Environment Operating Temperature: 0°C~40°C (32°F~104°F)
Storage Temperature: -40°C~70°C (-40°F~158°F)
Operating Humidity: 10%~90% non-condensing
Storage Humidity: 5%~90% non-condensing

Meanwhile, try to change another socket to plug it and ensure the firmware is up to date.

Still the same, you can contact the retailer to change a new one and test its performance.

Best regards.

@Manny21 Hi.

How did you get on with this extender? I've just plugged it in for the first time and it is very warm to touch even though its only been on for 30 minutes and has 1 'client' connected?

Hi @MissK3rry and @Manny21! Unfortunately, not. The extender is always hot to touch...I took it back to the store and called the manufacturer, but they say it's normal... I don't know what to say... I keep it plugged in, but I wouldn't leave home longer than a day without disconnecting it first,
