Hi,
To use Tether app, first you can register a cloud account; https://www.tplinkcloud.com/
Then you can login to the Tether app with it and manage your device.

It seems it's stopped working on certain Routers, I have a Archer C5400.
There must have been an update as it used to work but now no matter what I do on the Android app it states the username/password
TP-Link Teather see's the router no problem, when logging in it states "Login Failed, You may be connected to a guest network (nope on the routers network!), limited to parental controls (nope) or your network may be unstable (nope again)

Followed your link and logged in, first message was "Please add a camera by using the tpCamera app".
I don't have a camera!
I have a Tp link account as well.
List View and Settings options don't do anything, just show the same message.

The link attached before is the cloud website, which is used to verify that you can login to the cloud website with the TP-Link ID.
Try to use admin to access the Archer C5400 after the Tether app detected the router.
Or you can try to access the web UI of the Archer C5400 and use the same username and password to login.
