Hi,
I can't get the tether app to recognise the extender or get into it to manage the device in any way. I've reset it and it connects to the Wi-fi fine but it can't be managed.
any help would be very much appreciated

Please ensure that your cellphone has connected to the extender.
You can hard reset the TL-WA850RE to give it a go as well.
