Model: TL-WR840N
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

Hi everybody,

I have the main wifi router in our house TP-LINK_734C_5G, and then we have the range extender TL-WR840N, but for the life of me i just cannot seem to access the range extender, no matter what i try.

My only thinking is after i setup the range extender (and it works great) is that it adopted the main wifi routers settings, and if i want to access it, i will have to reset the extender completely.

Is that correct, or am i completely wrong ?

Reason why i am asking is because i've set some access control rules on the main router, and was going to do the same on the range extender, but maybe it adopted the main router's settings ?

Thanks in advance for any help

Y

Hi,

When you configure the 840N as a range extender, you can copy the main router's wifi name or customize it.

Once you configured it, you can connect your device and use the IP address to login; Do not have to hard reset it and relogin.

Note: You can get the IP address from the main router's web interface.

And the 840N won't adopt the access control settings of the main router automatically.

Good day.
