5ghz signal drops
Hi I’ve just got this router I upgraded the firmware to the latest version, first problem is the bedtime mode on parental controls doesn’t always work. And the past 2 days when I wake up in the morning the 5ghz doesn’t work and I have to reboot the router to fix this.

@jay1234 I'm having the same problem too. 2.4GHz no problem. Connection is solid and steady. The 5GHz if you can connect keeps dropping out and then I'm unable to hop back on because it says I'm using the incorrect password. It's driving me nuts. I'm on an Archer A10.

@jay1234 I have the same problem with my Archer 2300. 2.5g, fine. 5g, worked fine yesterday, as I use it for TV streaming. Today, barely connects, Yesterday, 100mps download speed, today, 2mps. Have the TV connected to 2.5 g now. All updates complete. Have reset both modem and router. Laptop connects to 5g with no internet. I don't understand this inconsistancy, it is very frustrating.

@jay1234 Same problem with my Archer C1200 v2.0. 5ghz network drops (2.4 is ok). Happened multiple times.
I'm not sure but logs looks weird, dates are from 2017-01-01.
Firmware is the newest official.

@Qwuerzy Bought a Linksys, TP has terrible service, and faulty products. Not enough time in life to track down unsupported web pages (listed in product manaul but gone when you need them) and reinstalling updates with ever the same outcomes...faulty design and faulty performance. Will never puchase another TP product..ever.

I have the same problem. Archer V6 on latest firmware 1.3.5 Build 20200630 rel.57690(4555). 5ghz dropping and not showing up, 2.4 keeps working. I tried getting closer to the router thinking it was a signal problem knowing 5ghz has smaller range, but still doesn't show up.

Hello, is the model number Archer C6 or A6? Ensure it is running the latest firmware, which can be found and downloaded from the TP-Link official website:
https://www.tp-link.com/support/download/archer-c6/v2/#Firmware
Ensure your phones or laptops do support the 5GHz connection, try to check if you can see and connect to other 5GHz networks.
Login to the web GUI of the C6 and go to Advanced > Wireless > Wireless Settings, where you will see Smart Connect, disable it and reboot the C6, then confirm again if you can see the 5GHz signal. You can also try with different 5GHz channels.
May it help.

Sorry, model is A6. I had smart connect disabled. I downloaded the latest firmware for A6 from the site and installed it, but it seems the same with the one that I had before.
Will keep posted on this.
