C5400X - Bandwidth control
C5400X - Bandwidth control
Hi, I would like to know how I could control the upload/download bandwidth by IP range because the router is not prioritizing my PC. I'm getting lag and I need to restrict the bandwidth of the other devices. I changed my Archer C7 AC1750 for this one but now I'm having issues when I'm playing.

@wsaca Well, this is the last Router I buy from TP-Link, this function is obvious for a gamer router, and for all other routers !!! QOS is not working very well, I tried almost everything without success. If the Xbox update a game, everybody in the house will have issues with their access, on YouTube or whatever, and the only way this router allow is to prioritize all computer but not the Xbox ???? That's crazy. Also, the famous bug that the router need to be restarted once a day to improve overall download bandwidth, ridiculous. Sorry to post this kind of message, but It's been years since this router have been released, no more excuse !

Same again here.
QoS doesn't work. I have gaming high priority, my PC high priority, all other devices low priority. If my TV is on, I cannot game. It's that simple. If my TV is on, it consumes my entire internet bandwidth available and leaves none for my PC to game, I get 20% packet loss and 150ms ping.
This router does not work. Period.
It's a premium, expensive product with bare to minimum features. Such a let down. I'm looking at getting another brand router and I'm also going to post a review where I bought it to warn people off buying this piece of trash.

@Ollienor Was in the same boat. It is difficult to find a good router today, a high price does not necessarily guarantee good quality. As I also work from home and am not alone in the house using the internet, my ultimate solution was to replace this router with an Asus RT-AX86U. Yes, it's a dedicated gaming router, but it's more reliable and robust than other more expensive Asus routers and other brands. The functions and options are more complete. The only problem I had once was that to apply a particular change made in the options, I had to physically unplug the router for a minute and plug it back in for the change to take effect. Good luck.
