Model: TL-MR6400
Hardware Version: V3
Firmware Version: 1.6.0 0.9.1 v0001.0 Build 181022 Rel.40644n

I have trouble connecting to 4g/3g network in remote area.

I tested with my phone (iPhone 6) and I have internet connection (a slow one) but with same sim card inserted in router I get no connection at all.

I also tested router where I know connection is good with the same simcard and it works fine, it just doesn't work in my remote location.

Is there something I can do to improve signal strength, and how is it possible that 4 year old iPhone has better reception than this device?

Hi,

It seems that the signal strength in your remote location is too weak to build up a network connection.

Considering it is related to the network infrastructure of ISP, I'm afraid that there is not much what we can do.

For the signal strength on your iPhone, you may contact Apple tech support to get some suggestions.

Good day.

I guess you didn't read my post:

My 4 year old phone has better reception than this router on same location with same sim card inserted, there's no need to contact their support.

Hi,

Sorry for that, while I did read your post.

Considering the signal strength is affected a lot by the actual network environment, cause it is a remote area, you can adjust the location of the router. Move it to an open area without interference, like concrete walls, other electrical devices.

Good day.

Hi Radomir,

I have the same issue.

I was getting zero reception indoors.

Placing the device at a window slightly improved the signal but was still unusable.

My solution was to place the device outdoors under shelter and repeat the wifi signal indoors.

I'm getting full signal strength outdoors and 12mbs download rate.

Regards,
