Hi all,

I have to substitute my current (own and rent by my ADSL provider) modem router and I was evaluating the following models:

  • TD-W8961N
  • TD-W8960N
  • TD-W9970

the only requirement from my provider seems to be:

the router must support ADSL and ADSL 2+ standards (ITU G.992.1 and G.992.5 over POTS). Support for INP and Retransmission functionalities is recommended

I can only add, for completing info, that my home is a bit far from the last provider-access-point, so the signal is a bit degraded and the speed is very low (1.5Mbps at most)

since I see that the three models have very similar prices, which of the three do you recommend?

thanks, regards

marco

If you check datasheet of each model, you will find that they support different functions.

For example, 9970 supports bandwidth control, but 8961N cannot handle it.

If difference like that it's OK for you, I would recommend 9970
