Hi

I have 5 TP-Link TL-WR710N Hardware V2, set up on my network as Access Points in France.

#1 and #2 are highly unreliable, requiring daily power off/on, and have firmware version 3.15.12 Build 140114 Rel.55132n.  One of them is no longer used.

#3, #4, #5  require a power off/on once a week to continue to work, and have firmware version 3.16.12 Build 150507 Rel.60955n

Having tried many configurations and settings, the current  configuration is:

Working Mode: Access Point

LAN: Smart IP (DHCP)

WAN: Auto channel/ WPA/WPA2

DHCP: Disable.

Q1: Its a mystery to me why they work for a while, and then people start to say that they can no longer connect.

Does anyone know why the Wifi adaptors  "hang" or freeze rather than work indefinitely like a traditional modem

Q2: I have not managed to locate a site for the firmware updates, as this may be the reason why #1 and #2 don't work.

Thanks in advance

Stephen

Hi SMC:

TL-WR710N is so old, I have one, But I have not used it for long timecheeky

For your case, I suggest you contact tp-link technical support engineer directly, Maybe this is the known issuelaugh

This is B2B community, so I think there are  few person can helo you.

PS: I remember the TL-WR710N only supports 150Mbps. You need change other better router, as TL-WR902AC.

Just for test. Try to configure manually wireless channel (for example, 6), make wireless bandwidth 20MHz, disable WPS.

Do you really need Smart IP for LAN interface? I hate it. It must not affect, but I strongly recommend to use Static IP, because I met a lot of problems long time ago with whole device hanging because of Smart IP.
