Odd behavior of USB HDD Share, corrupted files

Hi All,
Just encountered and issue with Archer C3200 USB share, I converted a lot of my dvd library to mp4, and set up a share on 2tb Seagate external drive, so i could stream them through a media player, the issue I have hit is that I went back to watch a favorite film and it would not play, last watched it back in march.
So after logging into pc and going to the share in windows 10 net browser, the movie file now read 0 bytes long instead of 8gb it was, have just tested the drive and all is ok no errors, bad blocks, but on searching the drive I found 6 more movies files that were reading 0 bytes, but from different dates, and all of those except 2 I had already watched.
Now the question, is the router responsible for this problem, has anyone else had issues, like this
regards
Andy
