Router TL-WR941HP ver2.0 - Incompatible with Multicast/Chromecast?
Hardware Version : Not Clear
Firmware Version : 2.0.0 Build 20171127 Rel. 62435
ISP :
I received this router 2 days ago and I'm already having problems with it. I noticed that even with Chromecast connected to my Wi-Fi network, it's not recognized in any supported apps (youtube, hbo go, netflix). It only works if I reboot the router, but if after that I unplug the Chromecast and turn it back on, the problem appears again. This did not happen to me when I used the TL-WR941ND. Do you know what could be wrong?
*The TP-Link Brazil Support Center said that this router is incompatible with the Multicast function, so it doesn't work with Chromecast. That's true?
*I've tried support with Google, but they could not identify the problem.
(I'm sorry if I wrote something wrong in english...)

Hi, thanks for the feedback.
There is currently no newer firmware for the TL-WR941HP(BR) currently, may I know what is the issue you have with this version?

Dear customer,
For the compatible issue between chromecast and 941HP V2, we have made a beta firmware which has passed the test on our lab.
Here is a beta firmware, please try it and see whether it works:
UN version: http://support.tp-link.com/f/86e1385c08/?dl=1
BR version: http://support.tp-link.com/f/8688983d06/?dl=1
If it doesn't work, feel free to contact us and we will follow it.
I`m facing the same compatibility issues with Chromecast which this beta version published some months ago is intended to solve.
I`m currently using the old BR version 2.0.1 Build 20180305 Rel. 54795 yet.
The link for the beta version is not available anymore.
Also, I was wondering if the UN version went to stable, as per link below, why don`t we have a BR version as well?

Guys,
To be honest, I give up on support for TP-LINK. I tried a final firmware for 1 year. In the past I downloaded the beta, follow the BETA-BR-Firmware link:
After testing, leave comments for others. LINK via google drive.

HI @Kevin_Z ,
I'm also facing this issue. I'm currently using the BR Beta version (Firmware version: 2.0.1 Build 20190522 Rel. 56708 / Hardware version: TL-WR941HP v2.0) and it was working fine for the past months.
But starting this month (August 2020), I'm starting to have the same issues again.
Even though I do see my devices connected to the Wifi, I don't have internet access. In parallel to that, I'm not able to connect to chromecast.
The problem does not seem to be with my internet provider because I just recycle the WR941HP (without recycling the cable modem) and it starts to work again for a couple of hours.
Then I start to have the same issues again.
I tried to install the UN version (https://www.tp-link.com/en/support/download/tl-wr941hp/#Firmware), but when I try to install it I have the following error:

Hello,
The issue you reported now seems is different from previous, it is now the drop out issue on the WR941HP, right?
May I know who is your ISP?
When the internet drops on the WR941HP, does it show WAN port unplugged or any error on its web interface status page? Is the Internet LED orange or green?
Ensure the cable between the WR941HP and your ISP modem is good, try with another cat5e or cat6 cable if necessary.
Try to reset the WR941HP and reconfigure it from scratch and monitor it again.
If this makes no difference, please send us the whole system log on the WR941HP showing this connect-disconnect-connect issue, don't reboot the router as it will clear all the logs, thanks.

Hi @Kevin_Z ,
Thank you! I checked here and indeed I'm having another issue. I have one device Samsung A10S with Android 10) that seems to be causing an issue and causing issues with my Wifi. I'll check if anything similar was already reported here in "Forums" and if not, I'll open a new topic.
But still related to this topic, I'd like to use an official/stable firmware version instead of a Beta version. Will we still need to use a Beta version to have the fix for the Chromecast issue? Or can we use an "official"/"non-beta" firmware?
Thanks

@Steven.Zhang those links are not working anymore and there is no update since 2018 at official firmware download page for br.
Can you provide me a new link for this beta version so I can make it work?
Thanks.
