C5400 v2 only half speed on gigabit internet
Hardware Version :
Firmware Version :
ISP :
I have a gigabit internet connection. Speedtest gives mee 900+ Mbps when wired directly to my modem. Tested with laptop and Apple TV 4K.
A brand new Archer C5400 v2 only provides half the speed - with the same devices wired to it. Cat 6 cables in all tests.
Speedtest from the "Thether" app also shows connection speeds around 4-500 Mbps both up and down - I guess this should test the speed between router and modem.
So - is my Archer a defect unit, or are there fixes for this?

Steinar Carlsen

@Kevin_Z Is there any hope that the company will release a fixed final version of the firmware, and not a beta? Maybe there is any timeline for the release of the corrected firmware? I’m just afraid to buy TP-LINK products, seeing how they do not give a damn about supporting their top-end products.

Thanks for your suggestions.
The current firmware is beta firmware, that is why we usually do not upload it on the official website. And actually, I have informed our local colleagues in the US before, we will remind them again.
Good day.

@Kevin_Z Could you release the beta firmware as standard new firmware?

@Kevin_Z Testing beta firmware is clearly delayed. I would like to receive the final version of the firmware with corrections. We are waiting for the company to release a beta version of the firmware as a release version. Thank!

No. Everything mentioned so far does NOT fix the issue. I still believe there was a bad batch or two of hardware and they dont want to admit it. Solution: do not use Toilet Paper - link equipment. Use a competitor.

TP-LINK should be ashamed of the fact that it treats its users this way! People spent a lot of money buying their products and they must be sure of the technical support of these products! It is unfortunate that they do not even bother to respond to their comments and the company is in no hurry to fix errors in the software, which it fixes for an impermissibly long time! And no apologies to users! From myself I can only say one thing - I am very disappointed! Most likely this is the last product that I purchased from this company. I wanted to buy a Mash System for home, but I'm afraid I will choose another company. Sorry, I just could not stand this attitude ...
