AV2000 powerline makes everything laggy

Bought a set of 2 devices. I have them hooked up on the same power circuit but still any device I try on them will not function properly. I get a nice, low ping like a cabled connection should provide, but everyhting else just stutters. As soon as I switch over to wireless(same router as the powerline adapter is connected to) it`s all fine.
Anything I can try before returning it?
