I have the same problem. I upgraded to version 180125 and can no longer change the region or language. How much do I try to downgrade to the previous version of the error: 5533. Since I bought mine in the US and I live in Brazil, the warranty does not work. Now I have to wait a long time to get a new update.

My parents' C9 have the same problem, and I have contacted tplink support, then get the downgrade firmware from tplink support it works now. http://support.tp-link.com/f/15b1b7ed92/
Maybe you can try this firmware, if it dosen't work, just contact tplink support via hotline.

O seu modelo EUA? Porque o meu é EUA e eu coloco esta versão, mas não funcionou na minha internet. Ele mostrou conectado (todas as luzes azuis), mas quando acessou um link, não havia conexão.

(sorry for my bad english) To help anyone who has this problem of error 5533 for updating to the latest firmware in the USA and not being able to go back to the European firmware .... I got in touch with TP-LINK's own support and I will go step by step how to do it. .. come on:

1 - download the archer c9 TP-LINK test firmware so that you can release the European firmware application and other firmware back on your router following the link from the tp-link support itself

Para ajudar quem teve este problema do erro 5533 por ter atualizado para o ultimo firmware dos USA e nao conseguir voltar para o firmware europeu.... eu entrei em contato com o suporte da propria TP-LINK e passarei passo a passo como fazer... vamos la:

 

1 - baixe o firmware de teste da TP-LINK do archer c9 para que possa liberar no seu roteador a aplicaçao do firmware europeu e outros firmware de volta segue link do proprio suporte da tp-link
