I've been having issues with device internet connect hanging for short intervals (5-60 secs) where these devices are connect via the Wifi extender.
In order to resolve the issue I thought it would be prudent to upgrade the firmware.

I downloaded TL-WPA4220(UK)1.2_170526 zip file from the TP-LINK support site, extracted the files and then used the PLC utility UPDATE feature for the relevant device.
4220_UK_120_en50561update.pib
MAC-7420-v1.3.1-00-CS.nvm

The message update successful appeared - but how do I check that it has been applied? The various identifiers etc seem to be a bit of a jumble.

The firmware version returned by the utility shows as 1.3.1.2141-00_422091_170519_904

I can only deduce that 170519 is the date of the PIB file.

The web interface returns the following where the build is the old firmware but the MAC and PIB have numbers in common with the utility version. So is it the factory firmware build that's confusing me??

Firmware Version: 1.2.9 Build 160525 Rel.35241n

Hardware Version: WPA4220 v1 08C84015

You have already updated the firmware successfully, it seems that the power extender firmware has two parts firmware, one is for powerline part, the other one is for wifi part, anyway, is the problem resolved after that?
