Hi

Just setup Access Control Rules in TL-MR6400 and found that function not working well.

My purpose is to setup a range of local IP from 192.168.1.100~199 unable to access all websites except for webmail.xxx.com daily.

Can anyone advise?

Firmware Version: 1.0.9 Build 151125 Rel.66188n
Hardware Version: MR6400 v1 00000000

TEST 1:
I ENABLED "Enable Internet Access Control" with this option: Allow the packets specified by any enabled access control policy to pass through the Router
The Rules as follows:

1
ID Host Description Information
IP1 IP: 192.168.1.100 - 192.168.1.199

ID 1
Target Description Information
Webmail webmail.xxx.com

ID Schedule Description Day Time
1 Daily Every Day 00:00 - 24:00

When " Allow the packets specified by any enabled access control policy to pass through the Router" is enabled,
1. No website is accessible.
2. Even the webmail.xxx.com specified above is inaccessible.
3. Try Ping to any Public IP such as Google IP result in Request Time Out.

TEST 2:

I ENABLED "Enable Internet Access Control" with this option: Deny
the packets specified by any enabled access control policy to pass through the Router

Whether with Rules or Without any,

1. All websites are accessible.
2. Try Ping to any Public IP such as Google IP is successful.

Thanks

Regards

It should be the Test 1, and the status for the rule should be Enable.
Is the webmail.com a Https website? How about if you set the device can only access tp-link.com?
tp-link.com is http website, if this works as expected, then it might because the router cannot control https websites.
