I am not aware of any pre-release firmware for the AX53/AX58 V2.

I also don't know how TP-Link decide which features go into which hardware version of their products first.

Anyway, if you own an Archer AX58 V2, then switch its "Operation Mode" to "Access Point" mode and check whether an "EasyMesh" menu exists or not.

I don't have an AX58 V2 yet; I only have an AX55 V1 for now.

Look at the information provided on this link. It should be okay for the AX58 V2, right?

Yes, the AX58 V2 supports "EasyMesh Network via Ethernet Backhaul".

But the AX58 V2 apparently does not support EasyMesh in AP mode when used as the main EasyMesh device.

So, if you use the AX55 V1 (with latest firmware) as main EasyMesh device in AP Mode and connect an AX58 V2 via Ethernet cable as satellite EasyMesh device, then this should work.
However, it would not work the other way around, at least until TP-Link adds the EasyMesh in AP Mode feature to the AX58 V2.

Under these conditions, can the AX55 and AX58 devices function as Wi-Fi access points with efficient inter-AP roaming, even if the AX58 is not configured in AP mode? Regarding routing, another gateway router ensures access to the Internet network.

Finally, when the AX58 V2 is connected via Ethernet cable and configured as an "EasyMesh satellite device", it functions as an access point controlled by the AX55 V1, enabling intelligent roaming via EasyMesh. Is this how it works?

The feature TP-Link refers to as "EasyMesh in AP Mode as a Controller" is only applicable for the "Main" device in the EasyMesh network. Archer AX55 V1 already supports this, but the Archer AX58 V2 does not. Devices used as EasyMesh Satellite do not require the "EasyMesh in AP Mode as a Controller" feature.

Yes.

  @Kevin_Z

Hello. I've updated the router from 1.3.1 that had a few slowdowns and small issues to the new 1.4.3 firmware and performance \ UI is pretty fast again. Thank you.
P.S. still hope to see support for DoH and DoT implimented toosmiley

Not sure if related - but I'm unable to connect my AX53 V1 (main router) to my Archer C2300 (V2).

Both seem to support OpenMesh, but the connection doesn't seem to be working, not wireleslly nor ethernet backhaul.

Any way to understand why?

@Kevin_Z Thank you for the update.

is there any news about DoT/DoH for AX53 V1 ?

thank you :)

@Router_Review Sorry. We haven't received an advanced notice.sad

Hi,

Generally, only the routers and hardware versions listed here https://community.tp-link.com/en/home/forum/topic/697572 support EasyMesh in AP mode.

Although, the Archer AX58 V1 is somehow missing in that list. Perhaps @Kevin_Z can add it.

@woozle Thank you very much for reminding. I've updated the mentioned thread to include Archer AX58 V1.

@davidperrin1 I've responded to your inquiry in the following thread:
