Sometimes when opening the Deco APP, you might find "Deco app showing 0 kbps for all speeds". Is it normal?

To answer this question, we can first figure out what are these numbers for.

It displays the real-time local transfer(RX/TX) speed and updates approximately every 5 seconds. When the Deco APP just started or there are plenty of online clients, the relative data may need to be retransmitted multiple times from the hardware before successful synchronization. In this way, the speed rate might shortly display as “0 kpbs” or “-/-”. This process will be improved over time through Deco APP upgrades.

So it doesn’t stand for the actual network download/upload speed and mainly used as a reference to check if Deco is actively hosting a local network with the online clients.  If you are worried about the actual internet speed, it is suggested to test via Ookla Speedtest App or https://www.speedtest.net.

However, if the speed rates are constantly showing “0 kpbs” or “-/-” on the Deco, certain interactions with Deco APP may become unresponsive and require further analysis. In this way, if users could consistently reproduce this issue, please refer to the follow suggestions:

  • Restart the Whole Mesh system.
  • Delete and reinstall the Deco APP. (Deleting the Deco APP will not remove the existing Mesh network)
  • Make sure both Deco firmware and APP version up-to-date.
  • Submit the Deco APP log. Please also include some pictures of your network map and note down how many online clients you are having.
