Hi all

I currently have 3 Deco E 7 devices spread around my house, they are not interconnected with ethernet, though I plan to do it in future.

I want to extend my wifi coverage outdoor, so want to add a X50 outdoor unit.

From what I read all Deco devices will work with all other Deco models, so I should be able to seamlessly add the X50 to my network.

I however read somewhere a while back, when wireless, the Deco devices can only do hops to 3 devices, so will it still work if I add a 4th Deco wirelessly to the network? As long as it works fine until I install ethernet in a month or 2 I'll be happy, it doesn't have to even give me higher speeds than about 20 Mbps for now.

Secondly, I know the X50 is a much newer / better model than the E7, however because my internet modem is in my house close to the one E7, the E7 will remain as the primary device and I'll add the X50 as a secondary device.

Will it work fine like this or will there be major disadvantages not to have the newer X50 as the primary?

Hi,

It is ok to add the 4th Deco unit. Please do not worry.

You can refer to 7. How many Deco units can I add to my Deco mesh network? for more information.

Deco X50-Outdoor can work as the satellite Deco unit. It is for outdoor using which can satisfy your needs.
