RE315 2.4GHz NOT WORKING
RE315 2.4GHz NOT WORKING
My RE315 I received today works fine in 2.4GHz and 5GHz modes during normal setup. When I open Easymesh and install again, 2.4GHz does not work at all. My modem is Vx230v waiting for your help.

Hi,
Can you please log into the RE315 and show us the "Network Map" screens for the "Router" and the "RE315" like you see in the sample pictures below?

Ok, I see that you use the same SSID for both bands. This could be problematic in your case.
The routers that TP-Link designs specially for Internet Service Providers, like your Vx230v, use a feature called "Band Steering" to combine multiple bands.
However, TP-Link's regular retail products, like your RE315, do not support this "Band Steering", but instead use a technology named "Smart Connect". Apparently these two technologies are not compatible with each other.
So I suggest you look if "Band Steering" is enabled on your Vx230v router and if it is, then disable it.

I turned off band forwarding and reinstalled with wps but nothing changed. Sometimes it connects 2.4 GHz, sometimes 5GHZ, never both together.

What about connecting the RE315 via the "Quick Setup"? Have you already tried that too? Quick Setup will prompt you to choose a 2.4 GHz network and a 5 GHz network.
Verify EasyMesh is still enabled and then click on "Quick Setup" like illustrated in the picture.

I did what you said but it did not detect the easymeshi. I downgraded to WPA-2 security option and did what you said again but it didn't work again.

Hi, Thank you very much for the feedback.
VX230v is one of the specialized models for service providers. Its EasyMesh Protocol is slightly different from the retail models, like Archer AX20 and RE315.
The EasyMesh Backhaul between two VX230vs also works on a single-band only. While the EasyMesh Backhaul between Archer AX20 and RE315 works on both 2.4GHz and 5GHz.
In this way, the reported issue here is expected. Only one band (either 2.4GHz or 5GHz) could be used for EasyMesh Backhaul between VX230v and RE315.
Thanks again and Best regards.

woozle first of all thank you for your help and valuable time. Hi David, when I go to the TP-Link website and look at the Vx230v specs and the easymesh network setup section in the User Manual, there is no mention of this. The easymesh section on the modem's interface doesn't give any information about it either. I bought the Vx230v modem from a technology store and when the modem did not connect by itself after 6 months, I repeatedly contacted the technical service and opened a topic here. Each time I did not get an answer except that this model is a customized modem for ISP. Until the last topic, an official said that he would take care of it and that it was fixed with a software update. Now, when I told him that the modem has a ping problem, his answer was that ISP products are different from retail products and even the team consists of different engineers and I am expected to be understanding. For 6 months, when I asked for a refund due to the error caused by you, TP-Link Turkey stated that it cannot do this because it is the manufacturer. When I asked for a refund or exchange for a different model, no one returned my e-mail, although they said they would get back to you. Last month, out of the blue, the modem burned out and they replaced it with a new one. If this modem is a special version for ISPs, why is it sold in the Turkish market in technology stores for individual users? If it supports Easymesh technology on a single channel, why doesn't it specify that? I just wanted to buy a simple modem and use it, but this is really unfair!
