  @Gravoren

You got it right now. Good luck with everything.

To recap benefits of dedicated wiring:

1. Each Deco node runs independently as it serves only users connected to it. That delivers maximum possible Deco mesh performance.

2. You can have second Ethernet port of each node to seamlessly expand wired network if you need that, in rooms where you place Deco nodes.

3. Each Deco node can provide up to gigabit WiFi speed. Internet speed will be limited by your ISP link you subscribed to, but if you move large files inside your network on devices connected to Deco mesh, you'll benefit from dedicated wiring. Examples would be PC image backup to NAS or streaming from NAS to Smart TV.

4. If you find that your ISP Internet link is overutilized by bandwidth demands from users in your house, you can buy faster Internet package from ISP and that's it. You can go up to 4 gigabit Internet link (assuming 4 Deco units in the house) before you need to worry about upgrading Deco mesh hardware.

5. Deco mesh has undocumented feature for running in AP mode, that works well in dedicated wiring: if Main Deco fails, another hardwired Satellite Deco will take over. Deco mesh LEDs will go Red, Deco app will alert that Main Deco is down - but WiFi coverage will continue and devices connected to remaining Deco nodes will have LAN and Internet access. You will only lose WiFi signal from failed Main Deco.

That resiliency feature won't work in daisy chain and won't work in Deco Router mode. In these two, if Main Deco goes down you are going to lose WiFi coverage competely, unit you replace failed Main Deco unit.

6. For your special case of workshop WiFi connectivity to main house and X10s firmware not supporting Connection Preference feature yet, if workshop Satellite Deco stubborny refuses to connect to the nearest in house Deco unit, swap that in house unit with Main Deco and problem is solved.
