@Mikhele In order to update the firmware on your Powerline device, you need two things:

• PIB header file (device identity parameters - the MAC, DAK, NMK and the Manufacturer, Network and User HFID)
• NVM file (firmware)

Many Powerline devices share the same chipset/NVM file (in case of TL-PA4010 V3 it is Qualcomm QCA7420) while PIB is manufacturer/device specific. Hence if you are searching for new firmware, you need to search for "QCA7420" instead of "TL-PA4010 V3".

You may get a PIB file from some of the released firmware ZIP packages for the device. If there is no released firmware for the device, you may get a PID file using open-plc-utils:

sudo plctool -i <network_device> -p header.pib <powerline_mac>

@turboleak Thanks, I'll take a look and see if I can get my adapters back to life. I've tried using plc utils but have never been able to get past the error I get about the softloader not being present in flash memory.

I have o TL-PA4010 (EU) v1.2.

 What chipset is inside?
