Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: BE550 1.1.2 TBE400UH 5002.24.117.4

Hello everyone,

I am currently trying to get Wi-Fi 7 working on my PC with a TP-Link setup, but I am encountering an issue where the 802.11be standard is not being reported as supported by the adapter in Windows, despite having the necessary hardware and apparently the correct software versions.

Here are the details of my setup:

  • Router: TP-Link Archer BE550 (Configured for 802.11ax/be and MLO)
  • Wi-Fi Adapter: TP-Link Archer TBE400UH Wi-Fi 7 Wireless USB Adapter
  • Operating System: Windows 11 Pro, Version 24H2 (OS Build 26100.3915)
  • TP-Link TBE400UH Driver Version: 5002.24.117.4 (Driver Date: 31/12/2024)

According to Microsoft, Windows 11 version 24H2 (Build 26100+) should support Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be). I have also installed the latest driver for the Archer TBE400UH available from the TP-Link website, version 5002.24.117.4, which identifies itself as a "TP-Link Wi-Fi 7 Wireless USB Adapter" and correctly reports supporting 3 bands (2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, 6 GHz). My router is also configured to enable 802.11be and MLO.

However, when I run the command netsh wlan show drivers in the Terminal, the output for the "Radio types supported" does not include 802.11be. It lists the following:

Radio types supported : 802.11b 802.11g 802.11n 802.11ac 802.11ax 802.11a

This indicates that Windows is not recognizing or reporting the 802.11be capability for this adapter through the standard interface, preventing me from connecting using the Wi-Fi 7 standard.

I have already ensured my Windows 11 is updated to version 24H2 (Build 26100.3915) and have performed a clean installation of the driver version 5002.24.117.4 from the TP-Link website. I have also checked the router's settings to confirm 802.11be and MLO are enabled.

Could anyone offer assistance on why 802.11be is not being listed in the netsh output and how to resolve this issue to enable Wi-Fi 7 connectivity with my Archer TBE400UH on Windows 11 24H2? Is there a specific setting I might be missing, or could this be a driver reporting issue?

Thank you for any help you can provide.
