Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.0.12 Build 20240517 Rel. 64015

Hi,

I'm using X73-DSL which supports 4 WAN ports, it's used in the Wi-Fi Router mode, and the internet connection to the device is passed through the WAN port number 1

I'm also connecting another device "Home 4G device" as a backup connected through the WAN port number 2

When the primary internet connection through WAN port 1 is down, the internet is still working fine through WAN port number 2 as a backup source.

My question is:

How can I switch back to the main WAN port 1 when the internet connection is back to WAN port 1?

I'm stuck with WAN port 2 and I can't connect to WAN port 1 again until restarting my deco device!

I searched the web for a solution and for a similar issue but couldn't find any solution and the Web UI is very poor in features. Also, I can't find any option in the mobile app related to my request.

Product URL: https://www.tp-link.com/uk/home-networking/deco/deco-x73-dsl/

Platform: Android

App name: TP-Link Deco (Beta)

The mobile app version installed is: 3.9.37

Country: Egypt

  @ElShahat

Hi, Thank you very much for the feedback.

The Ethernet ports on Deco are WAN/LAN auto-sensing, but Deco doesn't support a multi-WAN connection.

When the LAN 1 failed, the main ISP modem no longer passes the internet IP to Deco, so it might switch to LAN2. While now LAN2 has a Home 4G router, and as long as it keeps assigning Deco an IP address, the LAN2 would be stuck as the only WAN port.

It is suggested to refer to this link to add a multi-WAN router in front of the Deco:

How to use Deco with two ISPs?

Thanks a lot.

Best regards.
