I have 5 units of Deco BE85 in my house with the following setup:

 

Ground Floor:

1. Main deco (living room) - connected to modem

2. Satellite deco (terrace) - wired backhaul connected to Main

3. Satellite deco (kitchen) - wired backhaul connected to Main

 

1st Floor:

4. Satellite deco (hall) - wired backhaul connected to Main

5. Satellite deco (main bedroom) - wireless backhaul

 

The problem is with deco #5, the only one connected via wireless backhaul (in master bedroom).

 

Proximity is good, not many walls blocking, and whenever I am connected, the connection quality is Strong with full bars all green.

 

However in a day, at least once or twice this unit disconnects with flashing red light and re-connects moments later. If I am unlucky, it does not re-connect and sometimes powering it off then on gets it connected again. Other times I have to reboot all routers for the wireless unit to finally connect.

 

Is this a firmware or software thing? Is having other units connected via wired backhaul causes the one connected wirelessly in the network to be buggy?

 

Note: before on wired backhaul for the other units, they used to be all on wireless backhaul for a couple of months. Have never encountered this disconnecting issue.

Hi, welcome to the community.

Is the "Master Bedroom" satellite Deco wirelessly linked to the main Deco BE85 or 1st floor "Hall" Deco?

-Can I have some screenshots of the Deco network map here:

It is also suggested to switch the Deco units in "Master Bedroom" with another satellite unit, "Kitchen" Deco for example, to see whether the disconnection follows a specific Deco or stays on the same location.

 

If possible, it is also suggested to install the 1.1.2 beta firmware here to see whether it helps:

Thanks. The issue has been ongoing for a couple of months, I have switched the connection between Main, 1st Floor, and even Terrace (Kitchen is a bit too far). All with the same issues of random disconnect in a day. I have yet to try switching the Deco units itself though.

 

On the 1.1.2, I have just updated all the routers to 1.1.2 last night after I posted this (as I just found out about it).

 

Still testing to see if there are any occurrences within these next few days. 

 

If the issue still occurs, will try switching the unit with one of the others in the house and will see.

Quick update: been quite a while since I've been on 1.1.2, and since on it I can safely say that the random disconnecting issue is sort of gone, well at least whenever I am home or take notice of the routers there has not been any incidents. About an hour ago the whole system did reboot (this happened while I was transferring huge files to the SSD that I plug in to one of the routers via USB). The the main and some of the routers (though not all) were red and blinking and restarted then reconnected. I quickly browsed here and noticed 1.1.3 was released, so I had just updated all routers to 1.1.3. Will be testing this version out this week.

The disconnect is sort of back with 1.1.3 it seems. 1.1.2 seemed much more stable.

 

I've experienced twice in 2 days already, the wireless node in my room blinks red for awhile then it reconnects.

 

then when I checked the deco app, few of the wired nodes are connected wirelessly instead then a minute later they are back to wired.

 

like they all glitched out and got disconnected or something.

 Unfortunately the disconnecting issue happens with a couple of nodes at one time, and happens more than twice in a day on the 1.1.3 version.
