Tapo 30RV Max Plus and black carpet
Hi,
We have a room with a black carpet, and it seems the Tapo RV30 Max Plus struggles with it.
It keeps spinning in circles and loses its orientation.
According to Google, this is generally a problem with vacuum robots and black carpets due to their cliff sensors. Is that correct?
Is there a way to disable the cliff sensors for a specific room?
Best regards,
Nils Bödeker

Hello Wayne.
Good news. Firmware 1.2.0 build 250102 seems to have done the trick
All seems good for now. Thanks for your support.
@NilsBoedeker hopefully this one works for you too.

Hi Wayne. Wanted to chime in with some feedback for your engineers.
It appears the cliff sensor is off when the machine is trying to determine its location. I placed it on the second floor, where, as instructed, there's a no go zone around the stairs. The machine started to look around whilst determining its position and ended up taking a tumble down the stairs. It hadn't figured out where it was yet, so I suppose it could not enforce the no go zone. Thankfully it wasn't damaged beyond a small scuff.
Thanks.
Alou.
