Model: Archer TX3000E
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version:

I’m using a brand-new TP-Link Archer TX3000E PCIE Wi-Fi card (which I bought after another Wi-Fi card had the same issues), and when I run speed tests (Google/Ookla), I get an average of 30 Mbps, which slows down to 1 Mbps before the speed test finishes. If I try to download a 500 MB file, I usually get about one-third of the way through before my download becomes paused and then stops.

I have reset/re-downloaded drivers, unchecked power management, disabled Bluetooth, even reset BIOS. I have changed MIMO power save to "No SMPS" and set roaming aggressiveness to the lowest, but none of these changes have helped.

I have a phone, MacBook, and Windows laptop all connected to Wi-Fi, getting 150 Mbps+ speeds using Google and Ookla speed tests. So, the issue is not with the Wi-Fi but with my PC.

I'm using Wi-Fi provided by my building and do not have access to the router. The signal covers the whole building, and my phone and laptops even connect from almost 100 meters away, so signal strength is not an issue.

There is clearly a problem with my PC and the PCIe Wi-Fi card. Can anyone help?

PC Specs:

OS: Windows 10

Wi-Fi Card: TP-Link Archer TX3000E PCIE

Motherboard: Z490 Gaming Plus

CPU: Intel i7-10700K

GPU: NVIDIA 2070 Super

Power Supply: 850W

RAM: 32GB DDR4

Hi,

Does the owner of the network provide 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi as well as 5 GHz Wi-Fi?

If both are provided, is the speed low on both frequencies?

In case the Wi-Fi network is 2.4 GHz-only, then check if you have USB 3.x deviced plugged into the PC, like external HDD/SSD, thumb drive, etc. and if there are, then unplug them and test the Wi-Fi speed again.
