Entire Deco network goes offline randomly
Entire Deco network goes offline randomly
One last attempt before I throw the entire system into the trash and buy a different brand. I've had a few of the M9Plus units for years and never a problem, but since upgrading to the X60 the entire network goes offline (red light on top of all units) randomly for no reason at various times. Sometimes it will be fine for days, then all of a sudden it will blink out once or twice a day. I have sent log files to support, listing of the network with device and firmware listed as below:
(Main)
X60(4.0) 1.2.0 Build 20231221 Rel. 61901
M9Plus(2.0) 1.6.3 Build 20231225 Rel. 60770
X60(4.0) 1.2.0 Build 20231221 Rel. 61901
X60(4.0) 1.2.0 Build 20231221 Rel. 61901
M9Plus(2.0) 1.6.3 Build 20231225 Rel. 60770
X60(2.0) 1.5.3 Build 20231227 Rel. 62665
When it goes offline, I can pull the debug log file and see when the event happens:
Wed Jun 19 20:52:35 2024 daemon.info camera_security[10470]: watchdog runing
Wed Jun 19 20:52:35 2024 daemon.info camera_security[10470]: state_check
Wed Jun 19 20:52:35 2024 daemon.info camera_security[10470]: sched_check begin
Wed Jun 19 20:52:35 2024 daemon.info camera_security[10470]: sched_check end
Wed Jun 19 20:52:35 2024 daemon.info camera_security[10470]: state_check block state not changed, block=0
Wed Jun 19 20:52:41 2024 daemon.info conn-indicator: <31330300> Invoke led: conn[1]
Wed Jun 19 20:52:41 2024 daemon.info leds: Event: conn.offline
Wed Jun 19 20:52:41 2024 daemon.notice conn-indicator: Connectivity changed: ONLINE(0x0) -> OFFLINE(0x1)
Wed Jun 19 20:52:41 2024 daemon.info conn-indicator: Notify inet.down
I can't see any clear error messages in the log file prior to the event, not that I would know what to look for anyway. But I have sent the entire log file to support and have not heard anything back and it's hard to get support since it only seems to come from Singapore.
So if anyone has any advice, or I can post the debug (or parts of it anyway) here and might could help, I'd appreciate it.
Thanks!

Replaced the entire mesh system with Eero's and the internet has been 100% stable. I have also noticed the speed is incredibly faster as a bonus.
It's really a shame since I liked the user interface on the app, and the ability to access a web interface if I wanted to, but getting dropped randomly was just not an option anymore and just got tired of no support. At least I can confirm that it was not an issue with the ISP or the ONT so I can get back to business as usual without worrying that at any time I'll randomly be disconnected from the internet.

I hear ya and you're right, support (if you can call it that) just disappears once you send them log files, message back and forth, etc with no answers. I have a lot of those smart items in my house from door sensors, smart bulbs and outlets, switches, thermostats and such, and although the outages were for a few minutes, they happened daily and I work from a home office and getting knocked off zoom calls just became intollerable. I looked around a lot before deciding and checked out the Nighthawks, Linksys Velop, ASUS ZenWifi and some others. I finally decided on the Eero due to some of the independant testing and had some friends using them as well. You don't have to 'link' them to an Amazon account or anything and they do pester you a bit (mildly) to upgrade to all this security and monitoring stuff, but it's easy to ignore. I mean, you look at internet service now a days like the electricity service to your house...you just want it on all the time and not have to mess with it. I'll probably try to recoup some of my costs by selling these Deco's on Ebay or something like that and let them be someone elses problem.
Good luck and I hope you find something that works for you!
