MAC address filtering in Deco

Well, I landed here because I was trying to figure out how to set up mac filtering (allow) because my kids' devices keep changing their MAC. This makes parental controls worthless (and I am paying for it). Sad to see it is not an option. I must admit I switched from NetGear and ASUS because TP-Link products are solid; that is, I never have any issues with wifi. They just plain work. However, the lack of this feature rendering parental controls ineffective forces me to look at other products that do support MAC whiltelisting (cringe).

The Deco X53-DSL does not appear to support MAC address whitelisting.
I find that unacceptable.
The blacklisting mode is useless, as I do not know the MAC addresses of potential attackers.

White list feature is a must.
I assumed that it has it, and now I'm very disappointed.

I am reading threads from years asking for this feature, I am curious why TP Link is refusing to add such wanted feature while there is no alternative.
We agree that it is not perfect security, but now there is no way to prevent users from connecting to your wifi, especially that now the wifi password is visible on all latest phone OS.

@A-Man I think that some of the models (X50, X20 v4) are supporting it, so thay probably want to buy some more equipment- It's a shame

Sorry for you, seems you don't have the v4 variant (https://community.tp-link.com/en/home/forum/topic/210610?replyId=475934)
The Current WiFi Access Control/Allow list/Whitelist supported list:
Deco X50/X55 with the latest firmware |
Deco X20_V4 with firmware 1.2.0 and later |
Deco X60_V4 with firmware 1.2.0 and later |
More will be updated later! |
I can't tell when 'later' is :(
