Deco P9 set as main has 100% CPU load Vs. a Deco P7 that only use 20%
Hello
I have a network composed by 3 Deco P7 and 3 Deco P9, in a 3 storey building.
Since I have recently purchased the 3 Deco P9 i have opted to use the new P9 as main DECO.
However anytime i use it as main its CPU load goes 100% and internet connectivity has so many flaws.
I'm forced now to use a Deco P7 as main deco as its CPU load is always around 20%.
Why the Deco P9 cannot function properly as main deco?

Dear tp-link Team,
I am facing the same issue:
- I have 3 Deco P9 ... whereas one is the "main" and the other two are the "slaves"
- the "main Deco" almost constantly shows 100% CPU
- whenever it goes near the 100% the "ping" response time goes from any computer connected either directly to the "main Deco" or a "slave Deco" to the "main Deco" increases from 4-12 ms up to 700-35000 ms or even totally drops.
- the same happens if you are trying to ping any other device in the network which needs to be "routed" by the main Deco
- Rebooting all Decos only sometimes fixes the issue
All these performance issues are just within the local area network. ... so I am not even dwelling on the test results when performing SpeedTest during such high CPU rates.
Unfortuantely, the 100% is the "standard" mode ... So I am very dissatisfied with the tp-link product and have stopped recommending it.
... Therefore, please TP-LINK Support team, investigate this issue. I would be more than happy to share more technical details beyond the attached pictures in direct communication.
Thank you!
Here the current configuration:

Hi, I would be glad to follow up on your case by email.
And have you tried the beta firmware to see whether it helped or not?
Thank you.

Hi,
Except for the high CPU usage, Did you have any specific issue when the CPU reached 100%, like unstable connection, slow speed, or ping spike?
By the way, Did you roll back to the official firmware because the beta firmware is not working?
And we have already checked with the engineers, high CPU usage is not the cause of any problem, more like a phenomenon of some issues;
Thank you very much.

Hi, Can I have some details about the high latency, such as on which device and how did you run the test?---it would be highly appreciated that you could add some pictures as well;
Thank you very much.

Hi, I have sent you a test email and it is recommended to install the beta firmware first.
and it could be reverted back to the official firmware if it is not working;
Thank you.

I promised to come back with feedback after having installed the beta (which eventually became the new version when you check for updates).
Here is my conclusion:
(1) I still have the 100% CPU spikes
(2) Whenever I have these CPU spikes (or permanent situation) my WLAN performance drops significantly, i.e. the ping time surges from 4-12ms to 500-3000ms, i.e. the network is effectively unusable as every single app (esp. online apps) end up disconnecting due to timeouts.
Honestly, this is not attainable.
Happy to assist in the problem determination, but actions are needed.
Thank you!

Thanks for the update.
I would like to forward your case to the senior engineers and please have a check of your email box.

I also have the same problem. Main P9 stays at 100% CPU and bandwidth drops considerably. Rebooting it helps for a while. This started - I think - with the last firmware I applied - 1.1.3 Build 20201228 Rel. 55057
